Can't connect to SFTP with public Key and Password

Postby EMISInc » Fri Jul 10, 2009 4:43 pm

Hey,

I am having trouble connecting to a SFTP server (FTP over SSH2). I think the issue is with a setting I have set somewhere and I am hoping you guys can help me out. I need to connect to the server with public key and password authentication. I have already sent the admin my public key and have loaded the public and private keys with the password in the security tab. For some reason turbo ftp fails to connect every time with the following error messages:

I get these messages when I attempt to connect via public Key and Password:
STATUS:> Crypto Negotiation done. Server to client cipher:aes128-cdc. mac:hmac-sha1.compression:none
STATUS:> Crypto Negotiation done. Client to server cipher:aes128-cdc. mac:hmac-sha1.compression:none
STATUS:> Authentication with method 'publickey'
ERROR:> |(error#0)

and I get these messages when I attempt to connect with JUST Password
STATUS:> Crypto Negotiation done. Server to client cipher:aes128-cdc. mac:hmac-sha1.compression:none
STATUS:> Crypto Negotiation done. Client to server cipher:aes128-cdc. mac:hmac-sha1.compression:none
STATUS:> Authentication with method 'password'
~~SFTP BANNER~~
STATUS:> Login successful
ERROR:> disconnect message from server: reason code = 2, msg = 'Recieved bad authentication packet' (error#44)

I tried using filezilla with this server and it worked but I really would like to use turboFTP because I am using scheduled task features for this site and would really prefer not to script stuff or do the copy manually.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more info let me know.

Hi,

Which SSH Server are you connecting to? It would be helpful you can post the log from the very beginning of connection. Thanks.

These two lines appear before the ones i posted (In both cases):

Server version: SSH-2.0-3.2.3 F-Secure SSH Windows NT Server
COMMAND:> Sent Client version string 'SSH-2.0-TurboFTP_SSHM_1.50'

There is a line before that as well but it just has the URL of the site.
